More benefits lost for the Florida Driver (PIP)

I couldn’t agree more with Dr. Misty Green, that Florida drivers will have little to say on their PIP benefits.  Having handled car accident cases for the past 20 years in Florida, approximately 50% of my clients do not have health insurance and the only insurance they have to help with their injuries is their pip insurance. Without that insurance these people’s  injuries will only get worse form non-treatment and eventually we as taxpayers will end up paying for their injuries regardless through hospitals simply passing their unpaid bills along to us in the form of higher medical costs or through higher taxes because of higher social security, disability, medicare or medicaid costs (which the clients will be forced to apply for because they have no other way to get treatment). Of the thousands of people I have represented I can count on my one hand the number of times I suspected “pip fraud” and I cannot ever recall a client of mine being prosecuted for it. If this is such a problem why not enforce the existing laws to a greater extent rather than punish the people who need it the most?  If ever need advice if you know someone that has been injured due to someone else’s negligence, please have them call Mark P.
