Blake Rizzolo is an associate attorney at Smith & Valentine, where he represents clients in civil litigation matters throughout Southwest Florida. Blake brings more than three years of courtroom and litigation experience from his prior role as an Assistant Public Defender in Florida’s Twentieth Judicial Circuit, where he handled a high volume of contested hearings, evidentiary matters, and trials from inception through resolution.

Blake earned his Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law and received his Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University. His legal background is grounded in trial advocacy, motion practice, legal research and writing, negotiation, and client counseling. This foundation allows him to approach civil cases with strategic precision, strong advocacy skills, and a deep understanding of litigation procedure.

Before joining Smith & Valentine, Blake dedicated his early legal career to public service. As an Assistant Public Defender, he zealously represented individuals facing serious legal consequences, developing strong courtroom presence and an unwavering commitment to protecting clients’ rights. His experience in high-stakes litigation informs his current civil practice and enhances his ability to evaluate cases, manage risk, and advocate effectively for clients.

Blake is devoted to community service and access to justice. He has completed more than 50 hours of pro bono legal service, assisting Lee County and Collier County Legal Aid organizations, and participating in Wills for Heroes events that provided free wills, living wills, and powers of attorney to first responders. His pro bono work reflects his dedication to serving those who serve the community.

In addition to his legal practice, Blake serves as Secretary of the Lee County Bar Association, maintaining active involvement in the local legal community and professional development initiatives. He is passionate about helping others, strengthening the legal profession, and preserving Florida’s unique ecosystem.

Blake resides in Southwest Florida with his wife, attorney Marylynne Leblanc, and his two stepchildren. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring Florida’s natural environment, and keeping up with the family’s two dachshunds, Rea and Nolo.
